I have learned about functionality of web technology and quicker and deeper ways to use it in my work. I was thoroughly impressed with the RSS feeds and You Tube as a tool to encourage active learning.
I like Podcasting which can be use for library audio tour guides and to introduce a new staff member( the images are much more interesting then welcome e-mail)
I don't see online communication as a substitute for face to face interaction.I hold strong reservation about this idea.
Overall it was a good experience. Thanks for giving an opportunity to gather more knowledg than the average user has, and enhance ability to cope in tomorrow's information world.

Podcasting
"Podcasting is for anyone for any reason. It empowers you with a voice that can literally reach around the world".
C.Deitz
Great facility. You don't need to have an Ipod to enjoy the world of podcasting- you can listen to what you want, when you want, and where you want. You can even create your own podcasts!!
I have subscribed to some podcasts from Aunty ABC and entered BBC radio station

Encore

Another innovative way to find materials in the library catalogue. You can narrow your search by publishing, location, format and more, you can refine your search, you can see items recently added to the collection, and even more.Encore gives sugestions for misspelled terms.I hope we will be able to use this tool to symultaneously search both the catalogue and selected databases in one search.
iGoogle
I like iGoogle because it can be customized with different themes that change by what time of day you're looking at the page.
Google Book
Google is now offering free, downloadable (PDF) versions of public domain books. It's also free and easy to use.Unfortunately some full view books are full view for reading online but not for download.
Overall this is a nice tool.

Google Docs
Google Docs are a great and alternative to Microsoft Office and will open any document Microsoft has to offer, will allow you to create pdf files, create new documents, save existing documents, upload create folders and delete files and is FREE!!
Google Maps
Google Maps has powerful search features. Can help you find a number of different services along the route of a journey. For example, it could help you find post offices on the way to FTS Campus.

Explore MySpace/Facebook
Facebook is a social networking website connects me with the others. As users we are extremely well networked in real life .
Subscribe to blogs
I deeply admire some people for... being deeply involved in this time consuming activity
Digg briliant technology?
It is not going to be the best an alternative way to get the news, not my favorite destination .I would go for more credible sources to get some information on my desktop .
RSS impressive tool
RSS is imressive. I can get a quick list of the latest story headlines from my favorite websites in one place. However I still have some reservations about this tool.
